Pharmatec Pakistan was founded in 1993 when Sterling Winthrop, Inc. USA decided to divest its operations in Pakistan. Headquartered in Karachi, it has approximately 1,000 employees (600 in manufacturing, 300 medical representatives). It performs contract manufacturing for multinationals such as Haleon Pakistan and Abbott, and markets over 50 proprietary products in cardiovascular, diabetes, analgesics, antibiotics, and vitamins. It reaches over 20 countries.
