Oncorena is a Swedish pharma company based in Lund developing a potentially revolutionary treatment for metastatic kidney cancer based on research from the University of Gothenburg. Its candidate ONC175 (synthetic orellanine, derived from Cortinarius mushrooms) offers organ-specific chemotherapy with curative potential for advanced kidney cancer patients on dialysis. Phase I/II trial initiated at Karolinska in 2023. FDA approved IND in 2025 for MD Anderson. Funded by HealthCap, Linc and AQILION.
