Gelesis Srl is the Italian arm of Gelesis, a biotech founded with R&D in Salento (Puglia) and operations in Boston, specialized in hydrogel-based medical devices for weight management and GI-related conditions. Its lead product Plenity (Gelesis100), a non-systemic oral hydrogel, received FDA clearance in 2019 and CE-mark approval in Europe in 2020 for adults with BMI 25–40 kg/m².
